Re: You Can?t Really Believe What They Say, Can?t You?
If you have notice, there are 3 hot topics in the internet marketing niche and if you happened to have a course about them, chances are, they will sell better than your run of the mill topics like copywriting, list building product creation, etc. They are?
* Anything related to making money with Amazon Kindle
* Anything of how to make money from local businesses
* Anything related to making money with apps (since OMGPop was sold for $180 million to Zynga, I guess this will enforce the rush to do apps)
One time, I saw a salesletter said something like, ?Clickbank?s going to be obsolete with Amazon Kindle?. I have to say that salesletter is very misleading ? Amazon Kindle is not going to overtake Clickbank. Why? First of all, they?re not the same animal! The salesletter is making that kind of statement to add hype (more like a drama to me). You see, marketers use Clickbank to tap on affiliate networks. Authors use Amazon Kindle to tap on Amazon?s existing huge traffic and readers. If this is true (that Amazon Kindle will take over Clickbank), why the heck does the marketer who sell a course on Amazon Kindle opportunity is using Clickbank (or any other kind of merchant but not Amazon) to sell his ebook?
You see, it?s super cool to pitch on Amazon Kindle opportunity. It?s like pitching about making money from eBay back in the good old days when eBay was the hottest topic in the market. Interestingly, I DID try to make money from eBay and wasn?t successful at all. There could be a thousand reason but I think the core reason boiled down to this ? it wasn?t as easy as it sounded.
Now, I don?t want this Sunday Email to sound all gloomy and telling you that you?ll never sell a book from Kindle.
The thing is, you should try to promote it in Amazon Kindle anyway? if you DO have a good ebook, something that you?ve written and you think it?ll help to educate or entertain someone after reading it. I mean, there?s no harm in trying and you?ll never know if you?ll hit the jackpot.
Then you can expand on the ebook to become a ?course? and put it in Clickbank.com as well.
Going back to today?s rant ? online marketers can say anything they like. The most common pitch goes something like this:
?I was broke but somehow, I?ve managed to corner a rogue underground affiliate marketer in Vegas or something. At first, he didn?t want to share his secrets but somehow, he revealed to me (because he was drunk, he pitied me or whatever crap story it comes with). Then I come up with this magic software that cost me $54,304 to develop by an ex-employee of Facebook (which of course turns out to be a review page creator or some submission tool) that can apply the secret strategy. And yes, the software has also helped me to make $110,875.34 commission by just working 30 minutes a day. Since you?re my best pal, you can buy at only $39. But hey, please leave my website because a pop up will appear so that you can buy for $29 then. It?s okay, the $39 dudes won?t realize that they can get $10 off because they?ll be so busy going through tons of video tutorials in the member area figuring out how in the world I can make $110,875.34. Meanwhile, I?ll just need make sure that I don?t get 100% refunds to stay in profit.?
You?ll probably notice many marketer?s products are no longer using Clickbank. There could be many reasons but I guess, the most probable reason is it just won?t get approved anymore. The last time we have our product listed in Clickbank, they were asking many questions and want to make sure that several statements need to be clearly stated. And of course our product is listed in Clickbank.
With that said,? I will do Amazon Kindle as well, but not now yet.
